Hi all, I'm Patrick and General Manager for YouBloom in Northern Ireland.

http://www.youbloom.com

YouBloom is a unique web platform designed for today’s global music industry. Focusing on the independent music sector, it provides a mechanism that enables artists and bands to be discovered, to increase their fanbases and to make money from their creative endeavours. YouBloom also offers social networking functionality to fans, and the opportunity to establish relationships with artists in ways that are not possible on sites that are online music stores.

YouBloom allows Artists to have greater control of their destinies. It does this by giving artists a complete set of tools (within a social networking structure) to build and monetise their fanbases. These tools represent a quantum leap in comparison to the competition as follows:

Increase Fanbase

• A Points and Rewards System
• BloomOrGloom Song contest
• Widgets into Facebook and other social networks
• Email marketing with artist-owned database
• Radio
• Bloomboard – Charts

Monetise Fanbase

• Ecommerce, digital and physical, fully integrated
• Advertising revenues, 50% share

YouBloom is creating a “A New Global Social Economy Of Artists And Friends”. There are ecommerce sites on the net such as eBay and Amazon and there are social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace but there are no sites to our knowledge on the net which monetise social networking in a fully integrated manner, all in the one place.

Facebook and MySpace allow their members to make purchases by going off the site to sites such as iTunes and Amazon. In the case of YouBloom, members do not have to go off the site to make purchases. This allows YouBloom to integrate sales data in real time. For example, when a Facebook member makes a sale on iTunes, they have to wait over a month to receive sales data and when they do get it, it’s high-level data only. In the case of YouBloom, song play and sales data is in real time.
If you have any questions about Youbloom or would like to know more, please get in touch. We shall be launching our Song Contest 'BloomOrGloom' in the New Year and Sir Bob Geldof will be heading up the judging panel.

Hello David - we're not actually doing much at the moment, but I really should organise something.

Hi there,
I'm new to this site and came accross this group/thread so thought I'd make myself known. Hello!

Audio is my baby lol-Digitas will be a multimedia company, but my personal favourite medium is radio. We should try to generate a bit of interest for this group; surely there's got to be other soundwave junkies out there? Even as a promotional tool for their companies; podcasting via iTunes is a great marketing method!

Any audio creation, development, production or even appreciation is welcome.

Radio people were literally the original anoraks.

Presuming this includes people doing audio engineering and sound creation and/or research. There's some demand for sound effects for video games and apps for iPhone I've come across.

It'll probably be pretty quiet in here ...
